Garvald Parish Church
Garvald, Haddington
Lothian
EH41 3RD

Garvald Church has 12th century origins which can be seen in the stonework on the north and west exterior walls. The building was altered several times over its history, with the striking gothic windows on the south wall being added in 1829. The church was most recently refurbished in 1963 and the interior is currently stripped back to bare stone and furnished with modern wooden pews.

They plan to undertake a condition survey of the church and mort house, and consider options for heating and gather ideas for a small exhibition. There are three elements to the ultimate project: i) to repair and refurbish the church, rare mort house and graveyard; ii) to celebrate the architectural and social history of both church and village; iii) to improve governance arrangements through creation of a Friends Group.
