St Paul's Church is approximately 110 years old. It is located in the centre of the village to the south west of the green and below Walter Street. The church has two levels; the basement level consists of a church hall, a fully fitted kitchen and a small toilet. The hall was refurbished and the fully-functioning kitchen fitted in 2010/2011. There is a large stained glass window at the front of the church above the altar. The church is central within the community, next to the village school. Activities held at the church include: weekly 'Come Surf with Me' computer classes, Messy Church/ Kids Club, weekly Soup & Pudd club, and St Paul's Ladies Group. The church hall is made available for all to use and future users may include a Diabetes Peer Support self-help group and the village Fishing Club. The area is undergoing wider regeneration. In 2011 church itself sustained significant weather damage, exposing a large area of the church without render down to the brick. The outside render continued to fall away and the grant was to help fund re-rendering of the whole of the exterior.
