St Mary's Eskadale is described as being ‘of the highest significance socially and historically (through the connections with the Lovat Frasers and the Sobieski Stuarts) and the confident demonstration of belief in the Roman Catholic faith in the early 19th century.

A neomedieval tomb recess on the north side of the chancel commemorates Thomas Alexander, Lord Lovat, d.1875, and his wife Charlotte Georgina, d1876. In the burial ground there are fine monuments to John Sobieski Stuart and his brother Charles Edward Stuart.
