Building of the current church started in the early 13th century, although there was a church on the site before that and much of the material for the current church probably came from the previous one.

The oldest part of the building is the font which stood in the previous church and dates from the 12th century. The nave, north aisle and chancel are all 14th century. Some small alterations were made in the 15th century and the vestry was added by the Victorians.

All the stained glass in the church is 19th or 20th century. The creation of a Ringing Floor (1st floor under the tower), was the church’s millennium project.

Of note is the Busk Memorial Window. Edward Busk was a pioneer of aviation, most known for helping design in 1914 the 'B E 2c type' plane, which reverted automatically to flying straight and level after a manoeuvre, and which was used in planes throughout the first world war, In 1914, aged 27, he was killed when his plane caught fire.

The three mini pictures all show the fire of God.
