Ludlow possesses one of the great parish churches of England, and one of the largest, St Laurence's, is known, with good reason, as the Cathedral of the Marches.

This splendid church is one of the greatest to be found in Oxfordshire.

St Mary’s is both an historic and active church that plays a major role in the life of the Long Crendon community.

It is believed that the present building has its origins in 12th century but there was probably an earlier Anglo Saxon or even Celtic church, for the boundary of the original churchyard forms an almost perfect circle, a feature shared with many churches of known Celtic origin.

The land on which the church is built is said to have been a holy site since Saxon times, the earliest evidence of a church building on the site is from the 13th century.

All Saints dates mainly from early 14th century, with many interesting architectural features and links to historic events, within a beautiful village setting.
