The church does not have a tower but a strange oblong bell turret on a stone stalk, which does not detract from the overall charm of the building.
The church was built in the 14th and 15th centuries by the lord of the manor, and is conveniently set next door to his house. Because there is no longer a village here it feels rather like a private chapel.
Inside, there is a stone screen with detailing that includes a Green Man.
Dominating part of the church is the tomb to the Sydenham family, who once owned the house. It dates from 1626. In the north chapel are yet more tombs and memorials to see and medieval glass in the windows.
There was also once a medieval village, but that has disappeared.
