Our beautiful historic church dates from 979 AD. The former abbey had links to Fontevrault in France and is the resting place of Eleanor of Provence: the only Queen of England without a marked grave.

This large flint cruciform Grade I church was built for the Benedictine nuns of Amesbury. It is mainly Norman and Early English although heavily restored by Butterfield. The south aisle has a painted medieval ceiling. Some medieval glass survives.

We are a vibrant church with a liberal Catholic tradition and an inclusive ethos, with regular services and events. We are proud of our flourishing four part choir and our excellent team of bell ringers.

Close to world famous Stonehenge, we welcome all visitors.
