Great Steeping is home to two churches named All Saints and this one, built in 1891 of red brick, is the youngest.

We are a vibrant Anglican church in Hartley Wintney committed to growing together as followers of Jesus in worship, word and spirit, as well as to reaching out to the community around us and serving others further away.

St Mary’s church, parts of which are of late Saxon period, is a beautiful little church with a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere.

This humble church is dedicated to St Edith of Wilton, the daughter of King Edgar.

The church is on the west side of the village, close to open farmland, it is a stern looking building on the outside, refaced in Bath stone in the 19th century, when the church was over thoroughly restored by William Butterfield.

St Mary's has the memorial of Henry Jenkins, who is reputed to have lived until the grand age of 169 years.

This cruciform 14th century church with its wooden, slate dressed tower and a Georgian lead roof was sadly made redundant in 1980.

The church was completed in May 1864, the north aisle was added around 1890.

The church was mentioned in the Domesday Book and there is evidence of Roman and Saxon material in the west wall.

Only in the Covenhams can you find one village that is really two, having two churches that serve one!

This 11th century, Grade I listed church is a simple two cell structure but contains magnificent monuments to the Bolle family who were prominent in the 15th century.
