Beautifully set in a pretty, rambling, village, and with an early 16th century priests' house next door, St Andrew's is an exceptionally attractive church, and has one of only three medieval spires to be found in Dorset.
The church stands next to Over Compton House, the home of the Goodden family.

There are several monuments to the family in the church, the most outstanding being that of Robert Goodden, who died in 1828.
It is made of white marble and is life sized, with the Squire and his clothes beautifully observed in an informal pose.
The church has a lot more to see, including a three decker Jacobean pulpit.
