A project by the National Churches Trust, to support historic places of worship in Northern Ireland.

‘Treasure Ireland' is not just about grants, it offers training and mentoring to help you look after your treasured place of worship. This includes developing skills on writing funding bids, maintenance, interpretation and tourism.  

The project aims to increase the number of people visiting churches in Northern Ireland for days out or as part of a holiday. At least 100 churches will be added to ExploreChurches providing visitors with a one stop digital gateway into discovering the architecture and ecclesiastical history of Northern Ireland.

Funding the Heritage of Treasured Places of Worship

Do you look after or work with places of worship? Thinking about a project to repair and preserve the heritage of a place of worship? Join us February 22 at Seamus Heaney HomePlace to see what support is available from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and through the Treasure Ireland project from National Churches Trust. You'll also have the opportunity to hear from church project volunteers who received support and delivered successful projects.

Stained Glass Treasures in the City of Armagh

Treasure Ireland from National Churches Trust in collaboration with Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council invite you to a special Saint Patrick’s Weekend event to discover the vibrant stained-glass treasures found in stunning churches and cathedrals in Armagh. Our key speaker is Dr David Caron, one of the three original compilers of the first edition of the Gazetteer of Irish Stained Glass. Over three hours we will explore six places of worship taking a gentle stroll through Armagh’s rich ecclesiastical heritage. Limited places available.
