A small historic church in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Wye on the border between Wales and England, at the site of an important Roman river crossing.

Set amidst stunning scenery, St Peter's is a high Victorian jewel of a church, richly decorated, its monuments and fittings bring alive the fascinating history of the building and its people.

St Peter's, tucked away off the road, is a mix of architectural styles having been remodelled twice by former owners of the adjacent hall, and contains eight hatchments (funeral coats of arms) dating from 1770 to 1875.

St Bartholomew's church is a 600 year old treasure house of alabaster tombs, medieval carving, history and scandal, often described as ‘The Westminster Abbey of the Midlands’.

Built in 1795 this Wesleyan Chapel is now Grade II listed. It has had a long and useful life, providing a school in the early 1900's for Torpoint's children.

A small Benedictine priory stood here in the year 900 AD and the chancel area of the present church is thought to be the site of its chapel.

With its origins as a Saxon chapel, the church we see today with its 12th century cancel, is constructed of one building inside another, joined only at the windows.

The stunning interior of Caen stone evokes the great Gothic cathedrals of Amiens and Reims; the church is also home to a superb collection of stained glass windows by Kempe and others.

In 1542 Henry VIII rebuilt the church already on this site to keep plague victims from being carried through his palace grounds because at the time it was an isolated spot in the fields.

A Grade II Listed Non-Conformist Chapel with a remarkable ornate inter-war plaster ceiling and pulpit reredos, with a sense of family mission to the community, true to its roots.
