At St Ewe village the road widens just a bit at the market cross and mounting steps, through the gate you'll see the camellia developed by Mr Tregunna of Caerhayes and named St Ewe.

This church is Scotland's only complete church by the highly respected architect Sir Ninian Comper.

St Cubert was a Welsh missionary who came over in the 7th century, together with his companion St Carantoc.

In a tranquil setting in a green glen and close to the rushing River Esk, Cortachy Church is close to the gates of the castle, to which it belongs.
