St Hugh's is a Grade 1 listed church, situated in a raised Lan at the centre of Quethiock village. The building dates from the early 13th century and then had further rebuilding and remodelling in the later 13th and 14th centuries. The tower which was added to the church in the 14th century is unusually slender and rises from the roof. The chancel and nave roof were carved in the late Medieval period in a typical west country style and the ceiling of the nave has an unusually high number of carved Green Men

The earliest known burial is of Roger Kyngdon, Lord of the manor of Trehunsey, in 1471. This is recorded on a brass floor memorial at the entrance to the Trehunsey Chapel. The village heritage centre is based in the north transept and has changing exhibitions.

The churchyard is managed with nature in mind, There are tended areas and other areas are left to go to seed before scything. The 11th century Celtic cross is the tallest in Cornwall.
