Our church is 800 years old and has some interesting woodwork which is 350 years old.

A Cathedral for the people. 

Southernhay has a light and airy feel with a high ceiling, large stained glass windows and a rear gallery.

Thousands of people come here every year to see the grave of poet Dylan Thomas, marked by a simple white cross.

Welcome to St Peter’s, the oldest site of worship in the old county of Westmorland and the building we see today reflects its long and fascinating history.

At the annual meeting of the Preston District Congregational Union in 1871, strong representations were made as to the necessity of building a chapel in Grange over Sands with services starting eventually in a room at the Liberal Club 1889, thanks to a grant from the Union.

St James is built on ‘holy ground where the saints of old worshipped untold centuries ago’.

Grange Methodist Church (1874) is the second oldest church in Grange over Sands, located in the town centre on one of the main shopping streets.
