St Laurence

St. Laurence Church is one of the few remaining medieval buildings within the city of Birmingham. The present church was mainly built during the 12-15th centuries though it does possess a Norman doorway (circa 1170). A new north aisle and vestries were added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The finest architectural feature is the early English 13th century chancel. This Grade I listed church is part of the old village centre of Northfield, now a conservation area and sits within a large rambling churchyard.
The grant will enable the church to carry out roof repairs.
