Dating in part from the 12th century, an extensive Victorian restoration removed many of the medieval features but a fine vaulted ceiling with carved bosses remains.

The structure features an attractive 16th century timber bell tower topped by a squat steeple. To celebrate the millennium, a stained glass east window of contemporary design was installed, based on the theme of 'light'. In the churchyard can also be found an ancient stone prayer cross.

It is a place of great peace and tranquillity well worth a visit, as well as being a special venue for poetry and musical events.
