Find a church

A hermit’s hut, chapel or church has stood on this site for at least 1500 years, and St Sampson’s lies on the ancient Saints Way along which many of the Celtic Saints came from Padstow to Fowey, thus avoiding a perilous sea route around Land’s End.

At St Ewe village the road widens just a bit at the market cross and mounting steps, through the gate you'll see the camellia developed by Mr Tregunna of Caerhayes and named St Ewe.

St Cubert was a Welsh missionary who came over in the 7th century, together with his companion St Carantoc.

There is a peal of six bells, three of which are medieval, contained within the ancient tower which was repaired in 1970 when a new buttress was built.

St John is situated at the top of Lemon Street in Truro, built in 1828 as a simple rectangular block with a whitewashed interior and balconies on the north and south sides.

The tiny village is home to an historic Quaker meeting house, a cob and straw thatch building dating from 1710 and containing glass dating from 1640.

St Weneppa, Gwennap is founded on a Celtic monastery thought to date from the late 5th century.

Wendron parish church is a Grade I listed 15th century church restored in 1867-9.

Built in 1870, St John's is especially attractive, with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Built in 1862 the church has been sympathetically enhanced by each generation adding stained glass, the 1899 organ, ad 1923 electricity.
