A rare example of a rural church with Georgian interior and some outstanding box pews.

Our church stands on a hill overlooking the beautiful South Leicestershire village of Foxton.

A splendid perpendicular church which was largely built by the Greene family of nearby Drayton, this was a remarkable achievement given that England was subject to the Wars of the Roses during a large part of this period.

This beautiful 13th century medieval Northamptonshire ironstone and limestone church, with spectacular broach spire, and sumptuous chancel, lavishly decorated with marble, alabaster, semi precious stones and gold leaf.

The church is at the south end of the village adjacent to Eydon Hall, and oddly, both it and the hall post date this fascinating village.

The church started near the railway station, when Rugby was an expanding railway engineering town.

St Owen's is in a privately owned park which once belonged to Bromham Hall but there has been a church on this site for at least 800 years and there are signs which indicate that there may have been an earlier Saxon building here.

Built between 1327 and 1377 during the reign of Edward III, the stone carvings high on the walls of the chancel commemorate this fact as Edward looks across from the south side at his wife, Queen Phillipa, on the north.

The medieval church was destroyed during the siege of Rockingham Castle in the civil war as was the village that then surrounded it.
