One of the few late 19th century Catholic churches in Northamptonshire, the church is distinguished by some highly original details and has a largely intact and lavishly finished interior.

St Paul's was designed by JM Teale of Doncaster and EB Denison, later Lord Grimthorpe.

The first Christian converts were baptised in the River Derwent in 627 AD by St Paulinus, one of the second batch of Roman missionary monks sent by Pope Gregory to convert Britain.

A Grade II* listed building, at the heart of our village, with parts dating back to the 12th century, it has been there for the community over centuries.

St Margaret's is an ancient church with a round tower, a pre Norman font and some medieval features with a 15th century rood screen.

Built in 1874-5 for Wellingborough’s long established Independent (or Congregational) cause, its most striking feature is its ovoid shape, most unusual for a British place of worship.

The church has a medieval tower, a 19th century nave and chancel set within a loved and well cared for churchyard.

With its stone tower and spire, and windows of the Decorated period, from the outside Appleby Magna looks every inch a medieval church, which is what it is, and an excellent example of its kind.

This splendid medieval church commands your attention with it’s bell cote, 17th century mounting block and war memorial and, if you visit in spring, a spectacular array of daffodils.
