We welcome visitors, including those of other faiths (we recognise much of beauty, truth and goodness in the other world faiths) to our church. Friendly dogs are welcome.
The then Vicar of Kirkburton, Revd Collins, was keen that everyone should have a centre of worship in their own village. Much hard work was done to raise the money, including hundreds of letters written by Mrs Collins, and the Earl of Dartmouth gave the land. There was a great celebration in 1868 when the villagers finally had their own church.
There are several windows of interest including the east window over the altar, showing scenes from the life of Christ, a Memorial Window on the north wall to a young RAF officer killed in the Second World War, and windows in memory of a local doctor and a churchwarden in the south aisle. The south aisle has recently been opened up to make more space for community activities.
We think our beautiful church has a homely and welcoming atmosphere and hope that you will agree.
