An unusually large church constructed between 1320 to 1360.

It features a six storey tower, anecdotally said to be the second highest in Norfolk.

Our church is a fine example of the Decorated period. The windows have an exceptionally beautiful style of tracery, especially on the side walls of the chancery. There are 60 finely carved Victorian Arts & Crafts pews in the church. There is a double height hammer beam roof, restored in 19th century.

The most significant feature is the role the church played in the early 16th century when conflict between the puritan rector and congregation, and the Bishop of Norwich led to many people emigrating to America and founding the town of Hingham, Massachusetts. One of the migrants, Samuel Lincoln, baptised in the church, is a direct ancestor of Abraham Lincoln.

St Peter

Little Ellingham, Norfolk

The church has a medieval tower, a 19th century nave and chancel set within a loved and well cared for churchyard.

St Mary

Attleborough, Norfolk

From the outside St Mary's looks rather odd because the tower is at the east end, where the chancel should be.
