This is a priory church, presented soon after 1100 to the Benedictine Abbey of Lonlay, near Falaise in Normandy, but later reclaimed by Henry V. It was later given to Eton College by Henry VI.

All Saints is the parish church of Rotherfield Peppard, a village 6 miles north of Reading and 5 miles west of Henley on Thames.

A fine example of a medieval church with later alterations and additions, St Mary’s is light and attractive and includes a lady chapel and two notable memorials.

The church of St Mary in Abbeycwmhir was built in 1865 by Mary Beatrice Philips, sister of the squire.

A backdrop of wooded hills and parkland, with the grand stone buildings of neighbouring Morville Hall, create an idyllic setting for this ancient country church.
