St Mary's is an exceptionally fine and well preserved medieval church in Pembrokeshire.

St Winifred’s is one of the finest village churches in Devon with many interesting features, in particular its interesting location, as rather than atop a hillside where it would be visible, St Winifred's is set on a terrace that cannot be seen from the sea.

Built in 1873 to hold 240 people by at that time 12 original members, some of their relations still members of the church today.

After falling into disrepair St Mary's was rebuilt in 1879 by the Earl of Portsmouth. Its Norman roots can be found in the arch above the south porch and the small chancel window.

The famous twisted spire of wooden shingles supports a fine peal of six bells.

Trefin (probably derived from Tref (farmstead) and Ddyn (high ground) lies amid an area rich in early archaeology, including the remains of the Neolithic Chambered tomb at Carreg Samson, so called due to the legend of St Samson having placed the cap stone in position with his little finger.
