Since its opening in 1858 the Cathedral has served a diocese covering the counties of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset and provides a welcome to all.

Hexham Abbey is one of the earliest seats of Christianity in England, welcoming visitors to our site for more than 1300 years, with a host of historical artefacts and treasures visitors feel inspired by the sense of heritage, worship and community unique to this beautiful place.

Set at the head of a wooded valley, Laneast church has an almost complete and very well preserved set of medieval benches and bench ends, a well preserved rood screen, and a prayer desk from the beginning of the 16th century.

In spite of the eclectic origins of its many parts, St Oswald's significance lies it its alterations and accumulation of features over time including Norman font and walls, 13th century windows, 15th century chancel and furniture by Thompson (the Mouseman).

A 19th century church, opened in 1837 but at least the third on the site, the earliest dating back to the 1100s and built by monks from Tynemouth.

The church is named after St Odulph, an obscure Belgian priest who, with St Frederick, evangelised Friesland.

Built in 1795 this Weslyan Chapel is now Grade II listed. It has had a long and useful life, providing a school in the early 1900's for Torpoint's children.

Isel church is a beautiful Grade I listed building, which is located in an idyllic position in a carefully tended churchyard close to the River Derwent.

Altarnon parish church is known as 'the cathedral of the moors'.

The church stands proudly at the confluence of the north and south Tyne, boasting a remarkable Saxon tower and stunning Kempe stained glass windows.
