St Saviour’s opened in 1879, in a temporary building known as a ‘Tin Tabernacle’ to serve the growing community of Crouch Hill and Finsbury Park, following the arrival of the railway.

Set in a small rural village, surrounded by an ancient graveyard, this much loved Kirk plays a key role within a tight knit community of 700+.

St Saviour's was built in 1662 reusing stone from a ruined chapel at nearby Ingleby, and is built in such a convincing style that from the outside only an expert could tell the true date.

St Peter’s most striking feature is its Saxon round tower which was built circa 1000AD and considered to be one of the best in the country.

This Grade I listed building has many 13th century exterior features and was built on the site of an earlier Saxon church with a Saxon coffin being found at the base of the tower.
