A remarkable church, its rather drab exterior hides a beautiful interior, with high vaulted apses, beautiful stained glass windows and numerous memorials, including the WW2 memorial for the fallen from Ely.

St Augustine’s promises a warm welcome to all visitors, whether they are looking in on their parish church or have a special interest in stained glass.

During the summer our 400 year old church is open to visitors every day and it would be even nicer if you could attend one of our services. We would love to meet you!

St Andrew’s has its origins in the 12th century and has architectural features from the 12th to the 15th centuries, with some later additions.

Built by the 14th Lord Lovat in 1826, altered in 1881 by Peter Paul Pugin and is reputedly the first Roman Catholic Church to have been built in Scotland post Reformation.
