St Dunstan's church in Canterbury is a place of worship and pilgrimage which has been welcoming visitors and pilgrims from around the world for more than 800 years.

When it opened its doors in 1904 it was declared to be ‘a church built by miners for the miners’.

The outstanding feature of the church is the stunning murals in the chancel painted in 1904-5 by the Edinburgh artist Phoebe Anna Traquair.

With its stark white walls and impressive high dome the outside of this building tempts visitors to explore further.

It is believed that the first church was built on Roman foundations in the late 7th or early 8th century.
