Adel church is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Britain; it has been in existence in its current form since 1150, making it the oldest church in Leeds.

The church was built in 1956.

Like so many Romney Marsh churches this one seems far bigger than any population at any time could have justified, but in medieval times this was a rich and very busy landscape, filled with people who needed a place to worship.

People have been worshipping in this beautiful place for over a thousand years, the church dates back to the 13th century and there is a real feeling of tranquillity and spirituality here standing on the bank of the River Stour.

The original church was built in the 12th century but the current St Augustine’s was designed by famous 19th century architect William Butterfield.

Set on the lower slopes of the isolated hill from which it takes its name, Brent Knoll church stands on an ancient Christian site.

This little church was declared redundant in 1983, but was saved from secular use by the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust, which now maintains it.

Nestled in beautifully maintained grounds with the Welsh hills as a backdrop and the Afon Carno gently flowing nearby, St John the Baptist is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The largest church in Clifford, St Edward's was built between 1845 and 1848 in the Romanesque style.

The core of the present church, one of the best surviving Anglo Saxon buildings in West Yorkshire, was built about 1200 years ago, and much remains of the tall narrow Saxon nave and tower.

The origins of Upper Chapel begin in 1630 with a building erected by Anglicans and Presbyterians followed by the appointment in 1660 of the first Congregational Minister.

West of the River Rother, St Michaels spire is a landmark from across the Romney Marshes.
