The Fenland village of Willingham owes its exceptionally interesting church partly to its location on a medieval processional route.

In 1372, John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster became the owner of the Manor of Aylsham.

Beautifully located rural church, opposite the village pub, with a separate 13th century tower, a 11th century rood screen and a 16th century chantry chapel.

Nestled in the countryside, there is, sadly, no historical truth in the legend that the two churches of Antingham in one churchyard were built by two sisters. The pretty church of St Mary and the atmospheric ivy clad ruin of St Margaret.

The 9th century monk after whom this town is named lived and died at St Neot in Cornwall, his relics were later brought here, so a second town is named for him.
