An ancient Saxon church in a lovely parkland setting.

Mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086, St Edward the Confessor is situated on land formerly owned by Kolsveinn, Lord of Brattleby and tenant in chief of more than fifty manors in the county at that time.

In 1542 Henry VIII rebuilt the church already on this site to keep plague victims from being carried through his palace grounds because at the time it was an isolated spot in the fields.

Sharing the limelight with Tattershall Castle is Lincolnshire's grandest Perpendicular church, a collegiate foundation of the mid 15th century.

The present church of St Peter, originally dedicated to St Peter & St Paul, is the fourth stone church to occupy this site.

The present building was consecrated in 1623 having been built to the designs of Inigo Jones.

This is the chapel of one of the four Inns of Court. It is on the site of the chapel built in 1315, and rebuilt in the 1960s following destruction in the Second World War.
