St Aeddan’s is surrounded by three of Wales’s most historic Yew trees in a churchyard renowned for its beautiful setting at the crossroads of some of the Usk Valley’s most ancient walk paths, which draws walkers from Wales and beyond.

The first Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1786 in the district known as The Wong or Cagthorpe. It was replaced by a new chapel on the same site in 1806.

This church is consistently described as beautiful and elegant, it has the tallest spire in the county, standing a magnificent 210 feet high with many interesting and quirky items within.

For well over 800 years, people have been worshipping at St Peter's, the only Grade I listed building in our beautiful town and with the largest churchyard in the county.

Set in a picturesque location on the edge of the hillside overlooking the Wolds, St Faith’s contains much evidence of being a much loved church in times past.

Built to the orders of one man, Anthony Catesby (1500-1554) of the significant Northamptonshire Catholic family whose main seat was at Ashby St Ledger and were later famous for their involvement in the Gunpowder Plot.
