The hilltop setting of St Andrew's ensured its preservation when much of its parish disappeared beneath Rutland Water in the 1970s.

So small in fact it doesn’t appear on some of the larger scale maps, the brick church of St Peter sits peacefully on the hillside of this rural hamlet.

Possibly built around the 13th century, the church was founded as early as the 6th century and is a classic example of the situation of the typical early medieval Welsh church.

There is evidence that a church existed here in the 12th century, it was however greatly extended in 1915 hence it has two distinct side by side buildings.
