The present St Oswald's church has occupied this site for more than 600 years, replacing the wooden chapel, which formed part of the original Norman fortress, around which Malpas gradually came into being.

This modern brick church is the post war successor to St John’s, which was destroyed by enemy fire on 8th May 1941; the altar cross which was made into a processional cross for the new church.

The church was designed by architect Edward Street with wonderful stained glass windows and a large well kept churchyard with flower beds and bench seats so that both the church and churchyard are oases of peace.

Built of local greenstone, the church of St Helen is a Grade II listed church originating in the 12th century.

Holy Trinity is a Victorian building set in a large churchyard, located on the edge of Wrexham town.

A church is mentioned in Domesday, and later the Norman overlords built a small church of triassic sandstone probably on the site of the wide north aisle.
