The famous twisted spire of wooden shingles supports a fine peal of six bells.

The 700 year old parish church at Westbury on Severn has a separate stone tower, with an enormous wooden spire, newly clad in oak shingles, not far from the River Severn and next door to a National Trust water garden, the buildings are a landmark in the area.

The splendid tower can be seen for miles across the flat landscape that surrounds it.

The church gives the impression of a typical English village church, sitting at an angle to the geometry of the surrounding roads within its church yard.

Largely medieval, the church is in an attractive idyllic setting within the village and is grade I listed with very early memorials and fine examples of monuments in its Ogle Chapel and a single hand turret clock dated 1796.
