An ancient church on a mound near the River Severn, with intriguing medieval, Jacobean, and Victorian features.

Built in 1692, by the Thynne family (now Marquess of Bath), the church houses many 'Maidens Garlands' from late 1700s.

Panoramic views and peace outside, a host of surprises inside, including box pews, a gallery, ornate ironwork, Jacobean pulpit and very fine painted glass windows.

There has been a church on the present site since medieval times, but our present church dates from 1720, with close ties to Buildwas Abbey and the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, we are in a stunning location overlooking the River Severn.

Used daily for prayer and worship. Sited in the heart of this Shropshire market town adjacent to a medieval motte castle mound, there has been a church on this site since Saxon times.
