The church started near the railway station, when Rugby was an expanding railway engineering town.
St Andrew's church is a fine example of a William Butterfield building. It is in the high tractarian style and it is an impressive, large church, whilst also being a hospitable and spiritual place. It has two towers, being the only parish church in the world with two sets of ringable bells.
We maintain the Anglican choral tradition and have prayer book services alongside services from Common Worship and innovative services like Muddy Church.
There is much to see in the church of historic interest, including a medieval chest and a font in which Lawrence Sheriff was baptised. William Temple is remembered in the building along with Rector Moultrie a renowned priest and poet.
