The Mary Sumner Chapel is a simple and serene space situated close to Westminster Abbey within the Mothers Union Headquarters, a building designed by Claude W Ferrier between the Wars. Ferrier also designed Arsenal football club’s former stadium at Highbury.
Windows show images of Julian of Norwich and St Hilda of Whitby, and the roll of honour remembers the names of members of the Union who lost their lives during wartime. As well as the windows and the roll of honour, there is a nine bay oak screen with traceried panels at the roadside end of the chapel.
