St Martin's is a 20th century small church of modern design built in 1960 and delightfully situated in a large residential area.
Chandler's Ford, Hampshire
The church was extended in 1990 to add vestries and a centre. It is a single storey building, brick built with tiled roof and hardwood windows. It has an unusual and distinctive cruciform window above the altar.
The church provides an accessible facility accommodating up to 250 people and is available 365 days a year for community and church events. There is a small car park. The centre can be opened up to the main church for large festival services and community events such as barn dances and quiz evenings.
In addition to acts of worship on Sundays and Wednesdays, the buildings are booked by the Community on average 25-30 hours per week. The church is hired out to several local groups including, a weekly all day art group, Guides, Spanish Lessons, Counselling, Afternoon Guild, Men’s Breakfast, Women’s Breakfast, a toddler group, social events, hires for parties and family events, and use as a polling station and Warm Space by Eastleigh Council over the winter. The centre facilities are publicised and available for the whole community to use.
