Building started in 1870 and additions were made in 1886-87 and 1907 with later tower and transepts. The church is a gothic revival style. Constructed in coarse sandstone pebble and a blue slate roof.

This place has been a focus of Christian worship for 140 years. Many local people have been baptised, married, or had their funeral here over the years, and as such it has a special place in the hearts of many families.
