Events at churches

A new exhibition by Jeremy Houghton. Cider with Rosie Reimagined is a new collection of paintings inspired by Laurie Lee’s much-loved memoir of the same name. The exhibition is being held in Holy Trinity Slad - the church where Laurie Lee is buried - and will help raise funds towards the ongoing repair and restoration of this much-loved village landmark.

St Giles is known as Pugin's Gem. On August 31st it will be 180 years since the church was opened and consecrated. In celebration we will be holding a flower festival on September 4/6th, when the church will decorated with flowers and there will be parishioners on hand to welcome visitors. We are also hoping there will be a peel of bells rung on the Saturday 5th to commemorate the occasion.

Old Bolingbroke Church has put together an exciting programme of activities for this year's Wold & Coast Churches Festival, building on the momentum of its Church of the Year Award win last year. Visitors can enjoy a special performance from acclaimed harpist Eira Lynn Jones, who recently played at the Royal Albert Hall and is currently on a national tour, alongside organist Steve Jones on the church's restored pipe organ. With a range of events planned throughout the festival, Old Bolingbroke is looking forward to welcoming visitors and celebrating its rich heritage and vibrant community.

The Guildhall Singers is a vibrant choir of experienced singers dedicated to exploring a wide range of choral music, from early sacred works to modern compositions and jazz inspired arrangements.
