Adeiladwyd yr eglwys gyntaf ar y safle hwn yn 1841, ond fe’i difrodwyd yn ddifrifol gan dân. Yn ôl yr hanes, ym mis Mai 1891, cynhaliodd y Ficer ‘briodas yn yr adfeilion’.
The only church in England with a stained glass window dedicated to St Cornelius.
Linwood, Lincolnshire
The church is a grade I listed building with a grade II listed cross in the church yard.
The church is situated in the rural village of Linwood, the church dates from the 12th century and is built form coursed and square ironstone rubble with Ashlar dressing, slate roof with stone coped gables, the tower dates back to the 14th century with moulded parapet with Gargoyles, which house two medieval bells, the spire with Lucerne’s was built later than the tower. the nave is 14th century three bay arcade with octagonal piers plus one bay south chapel. The clerestory has three pairs of stained glass windows and is the only know window to Saint Cornelius in the country.
The church is situated some four miles from the village of Market Rasen, which has a selection of shops and eateries; there are numerous walks in the area for people to explore the Lincolnshire countryside.
