The current building was opened in 1857, but the church was founded in 1777 by Rev John Fawcett MA. The listed building is one of few nonconformist Pennine chapels that remains intact and is still a place of Christian worship. Using a theme of ‘Christ Centred – Community Focused’ the church has progressively created an inclusive sanctuary space for residents and visitors that promotes wholeness and wellbeing.
