As so often in the Fens, the imposing tower and spire are set apart from the body of the church.
The church has a 13th century core, but was added to in the 14th and 15th centuries, and yet more was added during the Victorian restoration of the 1860s.
The chancel has a very pretty ceiling, designed by architect Stephen Dykes Bower in 1959. For more than 20 years he was 'Surveyor of the Fabric' for Westminster Abbey.
