Kirkstall, Yorkshire
Founded in 1953 by Bishop Heenan, the church was designed in 1953. In 1979 it was considerably enlarged by Peter Lantry-Langton. The original design was very simple, with much of its character coming from the 1979 work, which was built around the original. Home to continuous walls of dalle de verre glass in the aisles, the New Testament is radiantly portrayed in radiant reds, blues and yellows, thanks to the contributions of John Hardman Studios, based in Birmingham.
