Great Torrington has a fascinating and colourful history.

All Saints is a beautiful Grade II* listed church situated in the heart of the village of Thurlestone on the South Devon coast.

St Gwinear’s battlemented granite tower with its square stair turret can be accurately dated to 1441, when a bequest was made to build it.

Set in prime position, the little white washed village church has an excellent view overlooking the sea and harbour and a very peaceful atmosphere making you feel welcome.

For almost 800 years the village of Diptford has had a church at its centre.

The imposing parish church of Weare Giffard was built in the 13th century and enhanced to its present size in the 15th century. It is one of the more important examples in North Devon of the beautiful medieval churches built in this period.

Nestled in the shadow of Dartmoor, in a beautiful wooded valley beside the river Dart, Buckfast Abbey is a working monastery offering visitors a tranquil refuge from the hectic pace of everyday life.

Built in 1862 the church has been sympathetically enhanced by each generation adding stained glass, the 1899 organ, ad 1923 electricity.

Unusual in Cornwall, St Michael's church is a light and airy Georgian building, built to a design by the London architect Thomas Edwards, a pupil of Nicholas Hawksmoor.

St Helen's is a beautiful Grade II* listed church situated in the heart of the small village of Abbotsham on the north Devon coast.

Above the porch door is a chiro stone lozenge found on site in the 1860s which dates from 350-400AD, the Christian faith has been here for more than 1600 years!

St Elwyn is located next to the estuary of Hayle near to three miles of golden sand and it has an imposing presence above the town.
