For centuries this was an estate church to a succession of families; the Burnabys, Clerkes, and then the Henley/Eden family who successively owned the Watford Estate and Manor here.

St Peter’s is a simple, but beautiful building at least 900 years old! It has the great attraction of being a quiet village church in the countryside although it is so close to Hull.

The imposing parish church of Weare Giffard was built in the 13th century and enhanced to its present size in the 15th century. It is one of the more important examples in North Devon of the beautiful medieval churches built in this period.

A rural Norfolk village church.

This medieval church was built between the 12th and early 15th centuries with the oldest part, the tower, having been famously described as curious and interesting, the internal roofs to the porch and north aisle are considered to be fine examples of medieval woodwork.

The combination of church and cottages here is rural England at its most appealing.
