St Matthew’s church has an amazingly rich history and preserved records to show it.

All Saints, Stechford is an impressive Gothic style church in Birmingham designed by JA Chatwin in 1898.

A church that tells the history of architecture over the centuries, from the Normans to the Victorians, and a real live who done it as you walk round our lovely church situated in the middle of a beautiful churchyard.

There seem to have been chapels of the Knights Templars and Hospitallers in Wetherby but these would be distinct from a parochial chapel for the use of the ordinary laity.

The church was built in 1843 by James Mallinson, the East end being restored in 1885 by TH and F Healey.

The church dates from around 1300 but it is the intervention of the Spencer family of nearby Althorp that transformed the medieval building. Sir John Spencer (d1522) rebuilt the chancel and commenced the funerary chapel that lies adjacent to it.

St Peter & St Paul is an old building; in fact there has been a church on this site since the Domesday book was written in 1086.

St Peter's stands beside the Wisbech Canal, a navigable arm of the River Nene.
