A beautiful church in the Georgian gothic revival style, built in 1837, with a bright interior with clean lines.

The church is Saxon, characterised by extensive long and short stone work throughout.

We are pleased to welcome you to this Grade II listed chapel only five minutes walk from the site of the Ironage Hillfort on Wincobank Hill.

The earliest reference to a church is from 1141 although it is probable that one existed here well before the Norman Conquest.

This building has been recycled, it was first built in 1715, enlarged several times then moved here stone by stone in 1881.

An evocative, idyllic 1818 chapel inextricably linked to the famous English priest and martyr, Saint John Southworth.

If All Saints Northampton is the county’s response to Wren’s London city churches, Holy Cross Daventry is that to Gibbs St Martin in the Fields.

For centuries this was an estate church to a succession of families; the Burnabys, Clerkes, and then the Henley/Eden family who successively owned the Watford Estate and Manor here.

One of the finest medieval churches in the county well set above the village green, off the main road, and adjacent to the mainly 17th century manor house.
