St Stephen's is home to a friendly church known for its warmth and hospitality, offering an open and inclusive approach to all and welcome parishioners, both new and old.

The gleaming lime washed walls of this imposing church overlooking Exmoor give a foretaste of the wonderfully light and spacious feeling interior, with its slender white pillars and soaring wagon roofs.

The church was built as a Congregational Church on the initiative of a local resident, Benjamin Scott, Chamberlain of the City of London, in 1864-5.

This church with its medieval porch, dates back to the 12th century and has several important historical features including an ancient font,stained glass windows,a rood screen and interesting brasses and is set in a beautiful, well maintained churchyard.
