St Stephen's church stands in the centre of this fine Victorian town, in a green space and spiritual presence in the middle of our busy lives.

A long flight of steps leading up to it from the town square gives great presence to this distinguished looking limestone building whose walls are topped with a parapet of intricately pierced stonework.

St Peter’s Wootton Wawen, near Stratford upon Avon, is one of the oldest structures in England’s Midlands. Its tower dates back to the 900s, if not earlier.

St Helen's overshadows St Nicolas at Abingdon in the same way that the town's old abbey church must have overshadowed St Helen's in its day.

Bloxham is in a small valley in the ironstone country of North Oxfordshire, on its southern side is the church of St Mary, outstanding even in an area of such splendid churches.

St Mary's was built almost entirely in the early 14th century, at the same time as Sir John de Broughton was building the adjacent castle.

Architects Thomas Rickman and Henry Hutchinson built this village church on a cathedral scale in the 1820s.

Much of this church was built during the 13th and 14th centuries; the tower was built in at least two distinct phases, with construction interrupted by the Black Death.

St James church is a Grade II* beautiful Victorian building designed by SS Teulon, which is much admired and appreciated by all and a focal point for all the village to congregate.

Perhaps the most beautiful of the great English cathedrals, it was erected between the 12th and 15th centuries and is a significant Somerset landmark.
